Day 1 – Saturday, 5 December

Arrival in Prague

Welcome to Prague, the historic capital of the Czech Republic and one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.

Upon arrival at Prague Airport, you will be transferred to the four-star Panorama Hotel. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel and meet your fellow travellers.

Day 2 – Sunday, 6 December

Discovering Prague

After a buffet breakfast, explore Prague on a guided half-day sightseeing tour.

Visit Prague Castle, the magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral, the picturesque Golden Lane and the Gothic Vladislav Hall. The tour concludes in Prague’s atmospheric Old Town.

The approximately 3.5-hour tour takes place by regular coach as part of an English-speaking group. The afternoon is free for your own activities, shopping or further exploration.

Day 3 – Monday, 7 December

Prague – Nižbor – Karlovy Vary

After breakfast, depart Prague and travel to the famous Nižbor Glassworks.

The Rückl family has been associated with Bohemian glassmaking for generations. During a guided tour of approximately 45 minutes, discover how lead crystal is shaped, cut and polished using traditional techniques. Nižbor crystal has also been selected as an official state gift for prominent international figures.

Continue to Karlovy Vary, the Czech Republic’s best-known spa town. Named after the Bohemian king and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, Karlovy Vary is celebrated for its thermal springs, elegant architecture and beautiful colonnades.

Enjoy a walking tour of the spa centre before checking in at the renowned Grandhotel Pupp.

Day 4 – Tuesday, 8 December

Travel from Karlovy Vary to Plzeň, the home of Pilsner Urquell.

Visit the Pilsner Urquell Brewery and learn about the unique brewing process behind the world’s original Pilsner-style beer. The tour includes the modern visitor centre and authentic brewery locations where Pilsner Urquell has been produced since its beginnings.

Continue to České Budějovice, the capital of South Bohemia. Enjoy a brief visit to this attractive historic city, whose expansive main square is surrounded by beautiful arcaded buildings.

The day concludes in UNESCO-listed Český Krumlov. This picturesque medieval town is dominated by its magnificent castle complex, the second largest in the Czech Republic.

Accommodation is provided at the four-star Hotel Oldinn, followed by dinner at a local restaurant.

Continue to Telč, one of the best-preserved historic towns in the Czech Republic. Its magnificent Renaissance square, colourful arcaded houses and Baroque fountain create one of the country’s most memorable architectural settings.

After a walking tour of Telč, travel onwards to Brno, the Czech Republic’s second-largest city and the cultural centre of Moravia.

Check in at the four-star Hotel International and enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 6 – Thursday, 10 December

Brno and the Moravian Karst

Discover the highlights of Brno on a guided city tour.

See Freedom Square, the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, the historic Vegetable Market, the Old Town Hall with its famous crooked Gothic portal and “Brno dragon,” and the imposing Špilberk Fortress.

Later, travel to the Moravian Karst, one of Central Europe’s most remarkable natural areas. Visit the Punkva Caves and journey through a mysterious underground landscape, including a boat ride along the subterranean Punkva River. You will also see the dramatic Macocha Abyss, which reaches a depth of approximately 138 metres.

Return to Brno for dinner at a local restaurant or wine cellar.
